Lovage is found in southern Europe and southwestern Asia. Lovage is tolerant of most soils except heavy clay; however, it does best in deep, fertile soil that is well drained and also retains moisture. Add well-rotted manure once a year. Prefers full sunlight, but can grow in shade. Requires watering during dry periods.Lovage will return for many years if well cared for. It comes up in the early spring and stays around for most of the growing season.
